AmplifyWorld’s Biggest Moments in 2024

2024 was a big year for us – from tweaking our name to launching our in-person Artist Fund event in London, not to mention our $500,000 Artist Fund, which will benefit promising musicians from across the globe.

Above all, it has been a year where the wider music industry landscape continued to demonstrate why platforms like ours – artist- and superfan-first platforms – desperately need to exist to truly motivate, support, and elevate the current, as well as the next, generation of artists and creators in a 360-degree manner in what can sometimes be a very disheartening industry.

Let’s look back at some of our biggest moments from this year.

Name Change and Rebrand

One of the most obvious changes was our rebrand from Amplify to AmplifyWorld. The rebrand came about because we wanted a distinctive name that could capture the scale of our global ambition in all its forms while hinting at where we are taking the company next.

In essence, AmplifyWorld felt like the right name – one that illustrates the power of our unique platform, which allows you to take control of your music marketing, driven by the opportunities presented by Web3 technology.

The AmplifyWorld Artist Fund

The AmplifyWorld Artist Fund proves that startups and communities like ours need to put their money where their mouth is and create financial initiatives that empower the careers of artists who, despite their talent and excellence, might not have the opportunities or financial means to get to the next level of their career.

More than just funding, this is an investment in the future of music – an investment in nurturing talent and a step towards building a more diverse music industry.

Launched this year, the inaugural fund was set at $500,000, with individual grants ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 for selected artists. The fund attracted interest from 1,500 artists – and we can’t wait to announce the artists who made the cut early next year.

AmplifyWorld: Behind the Artist Fund

On 27th November, we hosted AmplifyWorld: Behind the Artist Fund, an in-person event in London designed for our Artist Fund applicants and emerging talent in the music industry. This exclusive evening offered artists an opportunity to learn about the future of AmplifyWorld, hear from top music industry professionals, network, and gain insights into what they can expect from Artist Fund Round Two.

Our lineup included:

  • Benson Udia – Senior Marketing Manager at Parlophone Records (Warner Music)
  • Nikki Camilleri – Forbes Under 30 music industry executive and expert in artist development, strategy, and A&R
  • Kameron Addington-Dzenyo – A&R Executive at Duetti
  • David Courtier-Dutton – Founder of SoundOut
  • Hanna Kahlert – Analyst at MiDiA Research
  • Jamie Reddington (aka Sound of Fractures) – Web3 artist
  • Tom Vek – Web3 music specialist

Our CMO, Sam Bates, shared his thoughts on the event:

“Thank you to everyone who joined us for AmplifyWorld: Behind the Artist Fund – your energy, curiosity, and passion for the future of music made the evening an amazing experience for our team and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

“A huge thank you to our CEO, Irfon Watkins, and our Chief Music Officer, Ian Matthews, for kicking things off with their insightful and funny talk, sharing the vision and mission behind the AmplifyWorld Artist Fund and AmplifyWorld as a whole.

“Plus getting to hear Ian’s story again is always inspiring, going from a musician for hire and drum teacher to number one albums, headlining Glastonbury and selling out arenas! This set the tone for the rest of the event and I hope you found it as inspiring as I did.

“The panel discussions were also great. Our Future Technologies for Music Panel (AI and Web3) created some lively and sometimes spicy debates featuring Tom Vek, Sound of Fractures, David Courtier-Dutton of SoundOut, and Hanna Kahlert of MiDiA Research. Their diverse perspectives on the evolving music tech landscape left us with much to consider—and plenty to discuss.

“The Music Marketing in 2025 panel was equally interesting and informative, with expert insights from Benson Udia of Parlophone/Warner Music, alongside the incredible Kameron Addington-Dzenyo and Nikki Camilleri, who shared cutting-edge strategies to help artists thrive in the ever-changing marketing landscape.

“Special thanks to Nikki Camilleri for her fantastic presentation on leveraging the AmplifyWorld Artist Fund grants. Her advice on how to maximise the opportunity we are providing to drive your career forward was really worth its weight in gold for the artists in attendance.”

AmplifyWorld sponsored the This Feeling stage at the Isle of Wight Festival to support emerging artists and reinforce our commitment to empowering musicians. We were there to promote our $500k Artist Fund, designed to help artists achieve the next milestones in their careers, whether that meant recording their next album or heading out on tour. Partnering with This Feeling, an organisation renowned for championing grassroots talent, perfectly aligned with our mission to nurture creativity and independence in the music industry.

The festival was an incredible experience – we interviewed loads of exciting new bands, heard their stories, and witnessed their passion for making music. Supporting organisations like This Feeling not only allowed us to connect with talented musicians but also gave us a chance to celebrate the human side of the industry: the hard work, the dreams, and the resilience of these artists. It was a privilege to be part of their journey, staying true to AmplifyWorld’s ethos of empowerment and collaboration.

Introduced the AmplifyWorld Whitepaper

A major focus this year was our Whitepaper, which lays out our roadmap and vision, including the launch of our fan engagement platform (which is currently in the testing stage and ready to launch in 2025).

This decentralised fan engagement platform will enable artists to own their fan data and marketing analytics. In this way, they can better understand and engage with their fans across all platforms, boosting visibility, activating more fans, and increasing earnings.

This ecosystem will be powered by $AMPS – a  brand-new token will form the backbone of our fan engagement platform and help create new music economies for artists.

Through $AMPS, artists can harness the power of the extensive AmplifyWorld community to promote their music, offer exclusive content to superfans, build a customer relationship management system (giving them control over fan and career data), and access next-level marketing features.

Partnerships

Partnerships were a key part of AmplifyWorld’s growth this year. Highlights include:

  • Songbits – A music-first company that transforms fans into superfans by allowing them to own “bits” of their favourite songs.
  • The Pack – An all-in-one tour management platform.
  • Open Format – A protocol and toolkit for builders and innovators, which we’ll use to develop our gamified artist-fan missions and engagement opportunities powered by $AMPS tokens.

Our Growing Community

The greatest achievement, however, has been seeing our community grow. As of the time of writing, we’ve built a network of over 45,000+ newsletter subscribers, 5,000+ Instagram followers, 3500+ followers on TikTok, and 72,300+ followers on X. Metrics aren’t everything, but these numbers show that our mission is resonating with artists and music professionals globally – bringing us closer to an industry that puts artists back at the heart of it all.
